Anti-Islamic video-maker changed his name in 2002 because his name was too 'girly'!

The man behind the anti-Islamic video, which sparked violence in the Middle East and among Muslim communities across the globe, had legally changed his name because he felt his was too feminine, according to a report.

Court documents filed in Orange County court show that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula had his named changed to 'Mark Basseley Youssef' in 2002, after he stated in a 'name-change petition' that 'Nakoula is a girl's name and it cause me troubles..

Nakoula was summoned in court after authorities said that he had violated his probation from a 2010 check fraud conviction, the Daily Mail reports.

Previously, after the violence erupted, a man who identified himself as Sam Bacile spoke to media outlets including The Associated Press, taking credit for the film and said that it was meant to portray the truth about Muhammad and Islam, the paper said.

However, the next day, the AP determined there was no Bacile and the identity linked to Nakoula, a former gas station owner with a drug conviction and a history of using aliases, it added.
