George P Bush, the eldest son of former Florida governor Jeb Bush, was considered as a rising star among conservative Hispanics since his mother was born in Mexico, reported Xinhua.

"If you believe, as I do, that Texas is truly an exceptional place with a rich heritage and a future of unbound potential, then I ask for your support as I run for Texas land commissioner in 2014," the 36-year-old attorney from Fort Worth, Texas, said in a three-minute video on his newly-launched campaign website.

Bush said that if elected, he would address issues including veterans' affairs, education funding, energy policy, natural resources, coastline problems and historical archives.
