TORONTO: Air Canada is planning to introduce more direct flights from Toronto to Mumbai and other Indian cities from next year.

Air Canada Chairman Robert Milton said expansion of its services in India will be possible as the company will have new Boeing 777 planes next year.

The new aircraft would have a longer range, allowing Air Canada to fly to more destinations non-stop in India, Milton said while addressing a transportation conference sponsored by RBC Dominion Securities Inc.

Milton said Air Canada would benefit from the cargo services to and from India.
