Albert Einstein is no match for Saanya Verma.
11-year-old Saanya Verma scores the maximum possible scores in both the Mensa Tests (Cattell IIIB scale– 162 and Culture Fair scale – 142), putting her in the top one percentile across the globe.
"I can confirm that Saanya is one of the youngest to achieve 162 in the supervised test as it can only be taken by people over the age of 10 and a half," a Mensa spokesperson confirmed.
Saanya is a seventh-grade student at a leading independent school in North West London area. Chuffed mum Sunita Pati Verma says "It has been a proud moment for us and I think it’s an equally proud moment for the community that has provided her with the support and encouragement to achieve these unique objectives."
Her father, Sunil Verma, who spends a lot of time discussing science and robotics with his daughter, concludes that "Saanya has always surprised me with her questions and her reasoning skills have often put me in situations where I have felt overwhelmed. We are proud of her and are constantly challenged by her".
According to her parents, Saanya has always been interested in the cosmos and maths and spends a large amount of time working on robotics and electronics. Recently, she has been developing codes for the robots (Lego Mindstorms) and electronic instruments (Arduino).
For the future, Saanya is still considering quite a few options for a career- Scientist, mathematician, biogenetics, robotics, economist or maybe a banker like her father.
