Meet two Kashmiri-origin women named in US President-elect Joe Biden team

US President-elect Joe Biden has named two Kashmiri-origin women, Sameera Fazili and Aisha Shah, in his team.

US President-elect Joe Biden has named two Kashmiri-origin women, Sameera Fazili and Aisha Shah, in his team. Fazili was named by Biden-Harris Transition as the deputy director of the National Economic Council at the White House. The council is an important body as it coordinates the economic policy-making process. On the other hand, Aisha Shah was named as partnerships manager at the White House Office of Digital Strategy. The team will be headed by Rob Flaherty.

Fazili's parents wanted her to study and become a physician, but she disagreed and pursued her interest in ecomomics. 

Fazili loves skiing, swimming, tennis and travelling. She is very fond of Kashmiri cuisine.

In Atlanta, Fazili served as the director of engagement for community and economic development.

Aisha Shah went to Davidson College in North Carolina for graduation. 

Joe Biden is scheduled to take oath on January 20 amid tight security.
