Microsoft founder Bill Gates owns a palatial mansion in Washington and it is estimated that this property is worth over USD 120 million.

Billionaire power couple Bill Gates and Melinda Gates stunned the whole world when they announced on May 4 abiut their decision to separate after remaining married for 27 years. Bill Gates and Melinda are now officially divorced and are living separately.

The divorce sparked debates over the division of USD 140 billion property owned by Bill Gates and Melinda. It is to be noted that the Microsoft founder owns a palatial mansion in Washington and it is estimated that this property is worth over USD 120 million. The massive estate is named “Xanadu 2.0”. It has private beaches too.

The mansion covers an area of 66,000 square feet. Bill Gates bought the land for this mansion in 1988 for around USD 2 million in 1988. It took around seven years to complete the construction of Xanadu 2.0.

Xanadu 2.0 is called “an earth-sheltered house” as it is partly buried into the hill on which it is located. The house is cost effective and eco-friendly too.

The palatial mansion has 24 bathrooms in total, of which 10 are full baths and 14 are half baths. The house has 7 bedrooms.

The luxurious mansion has has a 60-foot pool with fossil-motif floor and an underwater music system. 

The reception hall of 'Xanadu 2.0' is spread over 2,300-square-foot. The hall can accomodate up to 200 guests for a cocktail party and around 150 guests for a dinner party.
