In North Korea, people involved in the production of pornographic material, or involved in buying and selling it, are even given death punishment. Daily NK reported that a school going boy committed the grave mistake of watching a porn movie at his home. The boy watched the porn movie when his parents were not at home. But North Korea police tracked down the IP address and caught the boy red-handed while he was watching porn.
As a punishment for watching porn, the boy and his family members were thrown out of the society and taken to the border area. The boy must consider himself lucky that he was not hanged.
The principal of the school where the boy studied was also not spared. According to laws of North Korea, the principal of the school is held responsible for any wrongdoing of the school children. In this case, it is said that the principal failed to discharge his responsibilities in a proper manner and he was sent to a labor camp as a punishment.
North Korea is one of the few countries in the world, where the laws are strictly implemented. The entire country was placed under lockdown for one year to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
