Muskaan Gupta

Do you long for the spicy, tangy delight of street-style dahi puri? Use our easy, flavourful recipe to make this well-liked Indian chaat at home with ease.

12 puris (golgappa), 1 cup of boiled and mashed potatoes, ½a cup of boiled moong sprouts or chickpeas, 1 cup of chilled beaten curd (dahi), ¼ a cup of sweet tamarind chutney, ¼ a cup of green chutney, ½ a teaspoon of roasted cumin powder, ½ a teaspoon of chaat masala, Add salt to taste. Garnish with chopped coriander and nylon sev.

Ingredients Needed

Mash potatoes with salt and chaat masala after they have boiled. For added protein and texture, you can optionally add boiled moong sprouts or chickpeas.

Prepare the Base Fillings

On a serving plate, arrange the hollow puris. To create a space for the fillings without completely shattering them, lightly tap the tops.

Arrange the Puris

Put mashed potatoes into each puri and then add a spoonful of chickpeas or moong sprouts. To prevent shattering the puri, keep it small.

Stuff the Fillings

For that real tangy and spicy street-style flavour explosion, drizzle each puri with a mixture of sweet tamarind chutney and green chutney.

Add the Chutneys

Over the filled puris, generously spoon cold, beaten curd. For a creamy texture, make sure the curd is well-whipped, smooth, and slightly sweetened.

Top with Chilled Curd

To enhance the flavour layers, sprinkle each puri with roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, and a dash of chaat masala.

Sprinkle the Spices

Add freshly chopped coriander and nylon sev on top. For the puris to maintain their crispness and provide the ideal street-style crunch, serve right away.

Garnish and Serve
