A customer was in for a major shock when he ordered an Apple iPhone on e-commerce site Flipkart during the Big Billion Days Sale and what arrived in the package was a few bars of soap.

Reportedly, the customer had ordered an Apple iPhone 12, worth tens of thousands even after selling at a huge discount during the Flipkart sale but the box instead carried soap worth a few rupees.

The incident, which looks like some kind of an error, has shocked netizens as Flipkart is one of the most trusted online shopping portals out there. As per the report, the user making the bold claim is one Simranpal Singh. He allegedly received 2 bars of Nirma soap instead of the iPhone he had ordered.

The video of the customer was posted on YouTube. He refused to share the OTP with the delivery person as that would have meant that the order was received by the customer. Singh complained on Flipkart’s customer care and the company reportedly accepted the mistake after some days of the customer pushing and negotiating with the delivery partner.

The company also cancelled the phone order and made a refund to the customer for the same.

While such incidents are rare, it is prudent for e-commerce customers to open the package and check high-value orders before confirming receipt.
