A US brewery - Busch Beer - is looking to put dogs to work for the beer brand's Dog Brew, a canine-friendly, alcohol-free drink.

Anheuser-Busch announced the job opening for a four-legged team member to serve as the company's first-ever 'Chief Tasting Officer' (CTO). Launched last year, the drink is canine-friendly and alcohol-free.

The initial release was overwhelming with the first batch selling out in 24 hours, according to a news release from Busch.

Apart from an enviable salary of USD 20,000 (Rs 14,90,810), the job also comes with other attractive perks like healthcare (pet insurance), and stock options (free Dog Brew).

While this career seems cute, the job is described as a "very serious role." The CTO's responsibilities include taste-testing, quality control and fulfilling duties as an ambassador for the product and a featured content creator on Busch’s social channels.

Qualifications for the position include a refined palate, outstanding sense of smell and, while not required, Busch said a proficiency in English would be "remarkable." "In order to get the job, your pup needs to possess a refined palate, an outstanding sense of smell, and must be a 'very good' boy or girl," reads a statement about the position.

Dog owners can submit their furry friends for the role on social media by posting their pet's photo and qualifications with the hashtag #BuschCTOcontest.

Only dogs residing in the 50 United States and District of Columbia whose owners are 21 years of age or older at time of entry will be considered. The deadline for submissions is April 28. The results will be declared soon after.
