In a shocking incident from China, a tourist was temporarily left stranded on a 330-ft glass-bottomed suspension bridge at Piyan Mountain in China's Longjing City. The incident occurred after sudden winds shattered the transparent panels around him.

Pictures of the incident have now gone viral on social media. Images of the incident show the person clinging to the rail of the bridge, surrounded by gaping holes and damaged glass platform panels.

The footage of the incident was initially shared on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform. State media reports were viewed more than 5.8 million times on China's microblogging social media platform, Weibo.

Several glass panels of the 330 feet-high bridge were blown off by the wind gusting at a speed of up to 90mph on the Piyan Mountain, as per a report published in the Daily Mail.

The man was stranded on the bridge for a brief period of time, after which a rescue team of firefighters, police, and forestry and tourism personnel helped him successfully crawl up and saved his life.

Reports stated that the man was immediately taken to a hospital and is currently receiving psychological counseling in the aftermath of the terrifying incident.

The recent incident has once again raised public concerns over the safety of the growing number of glass bridges across the country. According to state news agency Xinhua, 60 glass-deck bridges have been built in China since 2016.
