The man from the UK received the demand to pay extra money for having a second piece of cake from the bride via text, just days after the wedding.
Imagine you attend a wedding function and there you need to pay for an extra meal you had. As the proverb goes, truth is stranger than fiction - no matter how bizarre this sounds but is true.
In a shocking incident, a man from the United Kingdom shared his experience on Reddit where he was asked to pay extra money just because he ate an additional piece of cake at the reception.
According to the man, he received the demand to pay extra money for having a second piece of cake from the bride via text, just days after the wedding.
As per the media report, the newlywed couple caught the guest having an extra piece of cake in CCTV footage from their wedding. He was then sent a video of the recording on his WhatsApp number.
In this video sent, the man was seen helping himself to a second slice of cake. The guest after receiving the video on WhatsApp got confused and wrote, "Duno what you mean."
To this, the couple replied, "Hey, so we were looking at the CCTV and saw that you had two pieces of the wedding cake. We announced that each guest must pay per slice and noticed that you only paid for the one."
"Can you please send the £3.66 asap?" the message further went. What is even more strange is that all guests at the wedding were expected to pay for each slice of cake they ate.
Netizens were just stunned to hear this strange yet hilarious demand.
One user wrote, "It's incredibly cheeky to ask guests to pay for the cake, let alone review footage and then bill guests after the fact for £3.66! How are they not embarrassed?"
Another commented, "Love to spend my first precious days as a newlywed reviewing CCTV to see which of my loved ones I can shakedown for £3.66."
"Paying per slice is tacky as well, but sending actual video feed is a whole other level of crazy! That's what has me the most gobsmacked!" added another
