Continuing with the mystery surrounding monoliths from 2020, a new monolith has now turned up in Turkey, evoking a lot of renewed interest and awe. The latest monolith turned up in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa in Turkey.

The new monolith resembles the ones sighted earlier across the world. It is a three-metre high slab and it appeared near Göbeklitepe, which is a 12,000-year-old temple. It is to be noted that the temple was recently recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As the monolith looked very much likes the ones that appeared in the United States and Romania among other countries, the security forces were called up when various locals gathered to see the strange object.

The security forces led by Turkey's military force with law enforcement duties, Gendarmerie troops, cordoned off the area where the monolith had appeared. They brought in experts to tell more about the monolith.

According to the reports, the experts said that the inscription on the slab was in an alphabet recognised as the ancient Göktürk alphabet. The experts added that it translated to "Look at the sky if you want to see the Moon" in English.

The monolith had appeared on an empty land owned by a local by the name of Fuat Demirdil. Demirdil reportedly told the reporters that he wanted the monolith to be removed and to find out who brought it to his land. He said that he first noticed the block stuck in the ground and therefore informed the security unit.

The local authorities are investigating the incident. It is to be noted that this is not the first sighting of such a monolith. It was first sighted in the Red Rock country of Utah in the United States on November 18. Many other such monoliths were found out across the US in Texas and California and other parts of the world including India, Romania, Finland, and Poland.
