A person in the European nation Kosovo was taken to the hospital after he swallowed the whole Nokia phone. Major surgery was conducted by the doctors to save his life.

The 33-year-old man from Pristina in Kosovo swallowed an old Nokia 3310 phone. Notably, this phone is known for its strength ever since it was launched. The phone got stuck in the man's stomach and he was taken to the hospital where Dr Skander Teljaku was tasked to remove the device safely.

When the person was scanned, it was found that the phone was 'too big for him to digest' and that its battery containing harmful chemicals could kill him. Fortunately, the surgery was successful under the leadership of Dr Teljaku and the mobile was taken out.

Immediately after the operation, Dr Teljaku shared photos of the phone, X-rays and endoscopy photos on Facebook. It can be clearly seen in the X-Ray that the phone is in his stomach. Skander Teljaku told local media in Kosovo, "I got a call about a patient. Was told he had swallowed something. When we scanned, the phone was split in three parts in the stomach. One part of the battery, that was the matter of most concern. If it stayed in for a long time, there was a fear of an explosion in the stomach."

Media reports claimed that the man himself went to the hospital in the capital Pristina after having a stomach ache. Teljaku said the man did not explain why he swallowed the phone. A clip recorded by a small camera shows the doctor and his team finding and removing the phone from the man's stomach. It took two hours to remove the device.

According to a 2014 case study, there have been many cases of people swallowing mobile phones. In 2016, a 29-year-old man swallowed his phone and it remained stuck in his stomach despite several hours of vomiting. Surgery was done to take out the device.
