Man sets Guinness world record by slicing 56 apples in 60 seconds, but here's the twist

A US resident from Idaho smashed the record by slicing through 56 apples in a minute while jumping on a pogo stick. He cut through the apples in the air with his samurai sword.

Serial record-breaker David Rush has already broken more than 250 Guinness World Records in an effort to advance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.

Jonathan Hannon is shown throwing 74 apples in a minute in a video that Mr Rush put on his YouTube page. He managed to slice 56 apples out of 74.

Mr Rush admitted that utilising only his feet to bounce on a pogo stick was the hardest element of the test.

According to Mr Rush's website, "I was under time pressure since the neighbour's crab apple tree was going to lose all its apples for the winter and there was no way I wanted to waste that much money and/or food on store-bought apples." 

He acknowledged that it took him a few failed efforts before he managed to stay on the pogo stick for an entire minute.

Mr Rush has previously smashed a lot of records. The record for the longest distance travelled while holding a guitar on the chin has been set by him. He walked 5.4 kilometres while holding the guitar on his chin till it toppled.

Additionally, he set a record by keeping 150 lit candles in his mouth for 30 seconds. Only five seconds in, I could already feel them starting to come loose, so I had to clamp down even more and bite down with my teeth to keep them from coming out, he continued.

Mr Rush added that even though he had been wearing eye protection during the effort, he still had to deal with hazardous fumes and candles that became slick from his saliva.
