Abramson, who says he has followed Musk’s behaviour closely for two years, pointed to Musk’s public admissions of mental health struggles, drug use, and high levels of stress
Seth Abramson, a biographer of Elon Musk, has raised serious concerns about the mental health and decision-making of the Tesla and SpaceX CEO. In a series of posts on X, the social media platform owned by Musk, Abramson claimed that Musk might be “going mad” and urged the US government to intervene immediately.
Abramson, who says he has followed Musk’s behaviour closely for two years, pointed to Musk’s public admissions of mental health struggles, drug use, and high levels of stress. “I’m a Musk biographer tracking his online behavior, and it’s now reasonable to fear he is deeply unwell,” Abramson wrote, adding, “Protect America from Elon Musk.”
The biographer warned that Musk’s influence spans critical areas like aerospace, electric vehicles, social media, and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted Musk’s recent appointment as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the Trump administration, suggesting that Musk’s actions could pose a threat to national stability.
Abramson called on the current administration to act quickly before leaving office, proposing measures like terminating government contracts with Musk and challenging what he described as unconstitutional initiatives under DOGE.
Meanwhile, Musk has drawn controversy for his recent comments on X, including criticism of the UK government over a grooming scandal and support for far-right figure Tommy Robinson. His behavior has fueled debate online, with some users echoing Abramson’s concerns and others defending Musk’s vision.
Musk’s mental health has been a topic of speculation before, with reports of a breakdown following his acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion.
