The most fun part of an Indian wedding is the 'varmala' ceremony where the bride and groom exchange garlands on the stage at their wedding venue. Now, when then this ceremony takes place, the groom always tries to move behind or tilt his head back so that the bride is unable to put the garland across his neck. Sometimes, the friends of the groom also intervene and try to lift him up, higher than the bride's reach. When the 'varmala' ceremony begins the groom tries hard to move his head back in order to trouble the bride and later his friends als0 gather around him and lift him up where the bride is unable to reach the groom. Seeing this happen, the bride gets angry and sits back on the sofa that is on the stage. She demands the groom to come back to the ground and only then will the wedding go through.
After some nagging and negotiation, the groom came down and both exchanged garlands in front of family, friends and guests.
