Couple uses Tiger in gender-reveal party, faces flak after video goes viral - WATCH

A gender-reveal party has gone wrong on social media as the couple, living in Dubai, is now facing flak for the same. But why? Footage of the party has shown that the would-be parents used a tiger to reveal the gender of their unborn baby, a move that has enraged animal lovers and wildlife activists. 

In the viral video, the tiger is seen on a beach next to Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. The tiger, without any lease or chain, is seen roaming freely. The animal, as seen in the video, approaches a bunch of balloons that are floating above the sands, and raises up its hind legs to pop one of them, revealing the gender of the couple's unborn baby. Pink powder bursts out of the balloon, indicating that the baby is a girl.

The video was first shared by Carlotta Cavallari two days as she had written at the bottom,  "Tiger was not harmed and plastic was disposed of. Relax everyone." However, the video went viral after it was shared by the  'Lovin Dubai' Instagram page.

The video has been viewed by more than three lakh people as many have taken to social media to criticise the couple's move. 

A user wrote, "Absolutely disgusted. These majestic creatures are not on this planet for you to exploit for your own superficial pleasure!" while another said, "A tiger's place is in wilderness not as pet in Dubai or anywhere else."

While many said that the video is "ridiculous," a user wrote, "This isn't something to be proud of. These animals are not pets."
