'Lucifer Season 5 Part 1' Story:

Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) is forced to return from hell after his twin brother Michael (double role) causes chaos on Earth. How will the devil amend with his closest people and stop Michael, whil also solving murder cases, makes the rest of the story.

'Lucifer Season 5 Part 1' Review:

'Lucifer Season 5 part 1' consists of eight episodes, each helmed by a different director. More so, Lucifer himself joins the cast towards the end of episode three. The pilot episode of 'Lucifer' introduces Michael, who appears to be a nicer version of Lucifer from the forefront, but really is way meaner than the devil himself. The episode is about Lucifer putting his trust on and yet looking out for Detective Chole (played by Lauren German). Both Maze, also known as Mazikeen (played by Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) are upset about him leaving, but Detective is devastated and it is clear with her changed attitude. The episode just being a buildup, was a low point in the season.

The second episode continued to be a disappointment, with Michael leaving obvious hints and being a depressed soul, which is nearly the contrast of 'Lucifer'. We cannot complaint about the cinematography or the sets, but the overall episode is depressing enough.

'Lucifer season 5 episode 3' marked the devil's entry back on the show, but he does not come with a bang. Claudia focused on the romance between Lucifer and Detective, rather than Lucifer's well-loved puns from the past. Thus, the episode also turns out to be a disappointment, but is more interesting because Lucifer is back to solving a murder with the detective.

Episode 4 of 'Lucifer' was set in the olden times, and shot in monochrome. It plays an important part in the story but make the whole bit into an episode seemed a bit of a drag. Lucifer comes back in his element at tortoise speed with the episode.

The focus shifts from Lucifer to Amanadiel in episode 5 of the show. Morningstar's brother helps Detective Chloe in a murder case, leaving Lucifer confused. Although it is a refreshing change, it does not come at a time when Lucifer's character is most developed.

'Lucifer season 5' just seems to be focused on Lucifer's love story with Detective Chloe rather than developing his own personality. Episode 6 of the show is proof of the same, when the devil gets jealous after Detective's ex gets involved in a case. In fact, Chloe's ex-husband Dan (Daniel, played by Kevin Alejandro) also warns Lucifer about the ex. It was the episode where Lucifer was his usual self, considering dumb advices and acting upon them. The episode has various highlights, and a particular scene with the devil face sets the backdrop for the upcoming episodes.

Like I just mentioned, the whole season appears to focus on Lucifer's relation with the detective. By episiode 7, they have started behaving like a full-fledged couple, sharing something that belongs to them. They have made use of 'we' even when clearly it was an 'I' (reference to a personality trait).

Kevin Alejandro, who has been part of 'Lucifer' since the birth of the show, brought enough justice to episode 8 of the show, which is also the final episode of 'Lucifer season 5 part 1'. It finally brings back the magic which was missing throughout the show, and more, leaving major hints for something epic coming up in part 2. The finale episode was a delight, and could leave fans excited for what's coming next.

'Lucifer Season 5 Part 1' verdict:

Micahel is boring, Detective is depressing, and Lucifer is not completely in his element. Amanadiel could rather have gotten away with being the star of the season.
