On Sunday, the Narcotics Control Bureau made two more arrests in the drug supply case. 'Saavdhan India' actress Preetika Chauhan, 30, was among one of the people who got arrested after getting caught for buying drugs red-handed.
Who is Preetika Chauhan?
For the uninformed, Preetika Chauhan belongs to Karsog, Himachal Pradesh. She is a B.Tech graduate and had made her acting debut with the film Jhamela, which was released in 2016. She went on to play goddess Shachi in Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan.
On the work front, apart from Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman, Preetika Chauhan also had appeared in a few episodes of CID and Savdhaan India. She was also seen as Bhudevi in Star Bharat show Jag Janni Maa Vaishno Devi. Preetika was last seen as Goddess Parvati in Santoshi Maa – Sunayein Vrat Kathayein. Preetika was also part of the TV show 'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev'.
Speaking about the case, five people were arrested from Versova, Mumbai. Two officials from the NCB were deployed in plainclothes when they arrested Preetika and the drug supplier Faisal.
On the basis of an int input regarding supply of Marijuana in Varsova, yesterday at around 1900 hrs, a team of Mumbai Zonal Unit apprehended two persons at Machhimar, Varsova, and succeeded in affecting a seizure of 99 grams of Ganja from their possession.After due interrogation and recording confessions Faisal (aged 20 yrs) (Supplier) and Preetika Chauhan (aged 30 yrs) receiver were arrested and being produced before the Court.During interrogation, it revealed that the seized Ganja was sourced from one Deepak Rathaur R/o Varsova. Further development in the case will be updated accordingly.
The case is in the ongoing investigation in actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The Bollywood drugs nexus case came to light while a parallel investigation was being carried out by the NCB.
