American actor Adam Driver will be seen hosting the upcoming 'Saturday Night Live' Season 44 premiere, with American rapper Kanye West also joining him.

NBC announced the host and the musical guest for the show. The 'Star Wars' actor will be hosting the show for the second time while West will be seen for the seventh time since 2005, reported Variety.

Saturday Night Live took to Twitter and made the announcement, writing, "Big day, big news. #SNLPremiere"

The announcement came in just as SNL's Michael Che and Colin Jost were prepping to host the Emmy Awards, 2018. The 'Weekend Update' co-anchors along with Kent Sublette, recently signed their deals to return as co-head writers for Season 44.

The show received 21 Emmy nominations this time, with seven of those awards came in at the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend. One of the awards was taken by Tiffany

Haddish, who hosted the show back in November. Dave Chappelle had also won the same award a year back for hosting the first post-election episode in 2016.

SNL has seen a significant rise in its ratings since the past two seasons, because of the show's regular parodying of the Trump White House.

The Season 44 opener will air on September 29 on NBC.
