Kapil Sharma opened up in media interaction after Navjot Singh Sidhu was sacked from his Television show, 'The Kapil Sharma Show'
Kapil Sharma took a stand on Navjot Singh Sidhu's statement in the media. When fans demanded Sidhu's boycott, he asked them to come up with a permananent solution and not just talk randomly. As soon as he made this statement, Twitter went on a frenzy and has now demanded boycotting Kapil Sharma altogether.
This happened after Kapil made a statement to ABP news, "Gumraah kiya jaata hai logon ko. Hashtag chala dete hai kuch bhi - boycott Sidhu ya boycott Kapil Sharma show. Mujhe lagta hai ki yaar mudde ki baat karo aur agar genuine hai problem, aap uspe focus karo, na hi idhar udhar bhatkake aap log youth ka dhyaan divert kar rahe ho taaki hum log asli mudde pe aa hi na paaye."
(People are misguided. Others use any hashtag - boycott Sidhu or boycott Kapil Sharma show. I personally feel that talk about the main issue. If you have any genuine problem, focus on that. You should not divert people's attention from the main issue of concern.)
Kapil had also shared with Zee news reporter Rajan Sharma, "Halaaki ye bahut choti cheezein hain, ya phir propoganda hota hai jinmein iss tareeke ke baatein aati hain. Mere manna yeh hai ki kisi ko ban karna na, Navjot Singh Sidhu ko show she bahaar karna in baaton ka solution nahi hai. Ek Sthai samadhaan humein milkar dekhna hoga."
(All this is mere propaganda. I believe banning people, sending Navjot Singh Sidhu out of the show is not the right solution. We need to look for a permanent solution.)
Speaking about the ban on Pakistani artistes, Kapil said, "Hum insab cheezon mein sarkar ke saath hain lekin phir bhi ek sthai samaadhan ki zarurat hai. Pulwama mein jin logo ne kayrana tareeke se humaare jawaano ko shahid kiya unko dhundh dhundh kar marna chahiye jismein pura desh sarkar ke saath khada hai."
(We are with the government on this but we need a permanent solution. We need to find and kill each one of those who cowardly attacked our soldiers in Pulwama. The entire nation stands with the government.)
Navjot Singh Sidhu's comment led to his being sacked from 'The Kapil Sharma Show'. During a media interaction, he too had spoken about the attack and said, “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act. For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished."
