Think the word 'nepotism' and instantaneously Bollywood pops up in your mind. Isn't it? Well, maybe it's because the topic has been endlessly discussed, questioned and debated over. And it seems like there's certainly going to be no end to it in the near future too. Previously, while several stars have spoken about being the 'outsider' and struggling to get work because of the preferences given to star kids, TV star Nia Sharma who was ranked third and second in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women list in 2016 and 2017 respectively, recently slammed the same star kids and asked if people would be ready to see them if their surnames were taken from them.

In an interview with radio host Siddharth Kanan, Nia Sharma lambasted those who claim that she isn't ready for Bollywood. Attacking the star kids and taking a dig at them, Nia said, "Somebody has the audacity to tell me that I am not ready for Bollywood and when you see a Bollywood star kid's face, are they ready? Have they seen them? I am sorry but please don't tell me I am not ready or I look a certain way or I have to shape up."

Lashing out at those supporting star kids, Nia further said, "We are all seeing who those people are, good for them, they are working and having big movies but you take the name aside, will you look at them twice? (shakes her head) I am sorry but it's the reality. They are doing very well, good for them."

Meanwhile, while speaking about meeting a Bollywood director or producer who underestimated her skills because she began her career with TV, Nia told Siddharth Kannan, "No but Manikarnika ke liye ek meeting thi itna sa role ke liye (there was a meeting for a bit part in Manikarnika). It was a stupid conversation. I didn't go again. Kuch faayda nahi tha uss conversation ka (It was not a worthwhile conversation), it was a wastage of time. And then he was like, 'you look so hot'. I was like, 'seriously?'"

For the unversed, Nia's career skyrocketed after she was cast as Manvi Chaudhary in Star Plus's ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’. She plays Roshni Patel in Zee TV's 'Jamai Raja.' With performances like Aarohi Kashyap in Colors TV's thriller 'Ishq Mein Marjawan' and Naagin Brinda in Colors TV's supernatural vengeance series 'Naagin: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel,' Nia sure has established herself as a big and popular artist in the TV industry.
