Erica Fernandes, who was last seen on television in the role of 'Sonakshi' in Sony TV's critically-acclaimed show 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi', is all set to make a comeback to the small screen with season 2 of Ekta Kapoor's hit show 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay.'
Yes! The czarina of television is bringing the show back after 18 years! The original, that starred Shweta Tiwari, Cezanne Khan, Urvashi Dholakia and Ronit Roy in lead roles, had aired between 2001-2008.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Erica came on board a while ago and is slated to shoot a video for the announcement soon." Not just this, Erica's 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' co-star Shaheer Sheikh might also join her on the show. "Talks have been on with her Kuch Rang… co-star Shaheer Sheikh to join in as the male lead. The show will go on air in August on Star Plus and work on creating the grand sets for the show has begun,” the source further added.
They were once rumoured to be dating but things didn't materialise further. They recently caught up with each other and we wonder if it was for this show.
Shaheer and Erica were loved as Dev and Sona in Sony's modern-day romantic drama 'Kuch Rang...' and the news of their reunion is surely going to send their fans into a tizzy.
Shaheer Sheikh has also been reportedly roped in for the television remake of 'Mughal-E-Azam' for the lead role of Salim, which was originally played by Dilip Kumar. It still remains to be seen as to which show will Shaheer eventually choose.
