In Wednesday's episode of KBC 12, the much-loved quiz game show hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, a Delhi-based communications manager Nazia Nasim created history by becoming the first 'crorepati' contestant of the season.
While Nazia played a fantastic game where she attempted most questions without the help of her four available lifelines, she had only used one by the time she reached the Rs 12,5000 question, Nazia was a little stuck on the Rs 7 crore jackpot question, and decided to quit after much deliberation.
The Rs 7 crore question that Nazia was posed with is: Where in Singapore did Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose make the first proclamation of an Azad Hind government?
The options were:
A. Cathay Cinema Hall
B. Fort Canning Park
C. National University of Singapore
D. National Gallery Singapore
The correct answer to that question is option A. Cathay Cinema Hall.
During the course of the show, Nazia played brilliantly and shared anecdotes from her life. However, she used the 'flip the question' lifeline on the Rs 1 crore question which she eventually went on to answer correctly to become this season's first 'crorepati'.
The 1 crore question that she flipped was: Who was the first female to walk on space as well as go deep in Mariana Trench?
Answer to the above-mentioned question is: Kathryn D Sullivan
After Nazia flipped the question to choose 'Entertainment' as her preferred topic, she was posed with this question: Which of these actresses have won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer?
Answer to the above-mentioned question is: Roopa Ganguly (for rendering her voice in Aditi Roy's Bengali film Abosheshey)
Earlier, in a new promo dropped by the makers on the show on the channel's social media handle, the Delhi-based communications manager Nazia Nasim was seen comfortable and absolutely relaxed while at her game sitting opposite host Amitabh Bachchan.
The video revealed that Nazia very efficiently and quickly proceeded in the game without using many lifelines. In fact, the promo also showed host Amitabh Bachchan applauding her knowledge and complimenting her for playing a fabulous game.
In another video, that was released on November 6th, Amitabh Bachchan was seen saying "What an incredible game you have played, " as we're shown glimpses of tense moments, including the host, yelling, "Ek crore!" in celebration.
The 30-second video ended with Amitabh proceeding to ask her the 16th question, for Rs 7 crore.
Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 launched on September 28. This year is especially dear for Bachchan as it also marks two decades of his association with KBC, with which he made his television debut in 2000. He has hosted every season so far, except the third season, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
