Popular TV show 'Sanjivani', that premiered on the small screen in 2002 and later returned with a sequel 'Dill Mill Gaye' in 2007, is set for a comeback with a different title.

Producer Siddharth P Malhotra confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror. “Yes, I’m working on the new show but it all depends on the channel. I am hoping to sign the contract soon. Sanjivani is the show that made me and it’s the first show for which I was credited as creator.”

A source associated with the channel further informed the daily that the show will go on air post the Indian Premiere League (IPL). “The show will go on air post the IPL. There have been a lot of meetings with the production house to discuss details of the new show and the channel has liked the idea. This one will be made on a big budget and will its tone will be like the earlier two shows,” the source told Mumbai Mirror.

Reports of 'Sanjivani' reboot have been going around for quite some time. Earlier in March, some portals had reported that the channel is keen to rope in 'Ishqbaaz' stars Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna for the show. The news had come as a huge surprise for all #ShiVika [moniker for Shivaay and Anika] fans.

However producer Siddharth P Malhotra had then dismissed all reports. "Guys this is absolutely untrue and I’m sure this is a lovely pair but would appreciate that we put an end to all this conjecture...," he had tweeted.

However, Mumbai Mirror's source has now confirmed that Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna have indeed been brought on board for the medical drama.

'Sanjivani' was a romantic medical drama that revolved around the lives of Dr Juhi Singh (Gurdeep Kohli), Dr Rahul Mehra (Gaurav Chanana/Mihir Mishra), Dr Shashank Gupta (Mohnish Bahl), Dr Simran Chopra (Shilpa Kadam/Rupali Ganguly), Dr Aman (Arjun Punj) and Dr Omi Joshi (Sanjeet Bedi) .

The show returned as 'Dill Mill Gaye' in 2007 with Karan Singh Grover, Jennifer Winget and Mohnish Bahl in lead roles. Besides a romantic plot, the show also had quite a few memorable songs including the title track being sung by Sonu Nigam.
