Indian Idol 12 grand finale: Winner Pawandeep Rajan takes home car, Rs 25 lakhs, hugs first runner-up Arunita Kanjilal

The most controversial season of singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’ came to an end after airing for eight long months. Contestant Pawandeep Rajan emerged as the winner of ‘Indian Idol 12’ which ran for 12 hours until midnight. The first runners-up trophy went to Arunita Kanjilal followed by Sayli Kamble, Mohd Danish, Nihal Tauro and Shanamukhapriya. 

Pawandeep’s family was also present during the grand finale to share his happiness. After the announcement of Pawandeep as the winner, he and Arunita shared a warm hug to congratulate each other for their feat. Photos of their adorable moment have been going viral on social media.

Winner Pawandeep took a prize of Rs 25 lakhs and a Maruti Suzuki Swift car. Runners-up Arunita and Sayali were awarded a cash prize of Rs lakhs each. While Danish and Nihal were awarded with Rs 3 lakhs each. Raj Superwhite Soap awarded a cheque of Rs 75,000 to all the top six finalists who also got gift hampers by Colgate and Denver.

The grand finale episode of ‘Indian Idol 12’ was a star-studded event with the presence of actors Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Bharti Singh and The Great Khali as guests. Singers Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali, Udit Narayan, Vishal Dadlani and Sukhvinder Singh also graced the special episode.

Actors Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta, who will soon be seen as the lead pair in ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2’ also appeared during the finale. South superstar Vijay Deverkonda even sent a video message to boost the confidence of contestants by telling them how much he loves the show.

The team had already pre-recorded parts of the special episode, however, the winner was announced live at midnight. ‘Indian Idol 12’ grand finale was hosted by Aditya Narayan and co-hosted by Jay Bhanushali.

Sonu Kakkar, who filled in for sister Neha Kakkar and the other judges, Himesh Reshammiya and Anu Malik also performed at the ‘Greatest Grand Finale Ever.
