After legendary singer Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar slammed 'Indian Idol 12' judges and the contestants, host Aditya Narayan asked the following guest judges for their honest opinions. The latest celebrities to join the judges' panel was Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal and Roop Kumar Rathod. During a recent interaction, Anuradha was asked about the performances of the contestants and statements of Amit on them.

Paudwal told Aaj Tak, "I found the contestants very talented and there was nothing controversial about it. If people are questioning their (contestants') talent, I am surprised. I have no idea about the controversy around Amit ji but when I went, the kids sang really well. I was surprised watching their performance,"

Meanwhile, the winner of the first season of 'Indian Idol', Abhijeet Sawant told ETimes, "I also want to add about the recent Kishore Kumar controversy. The audience needs to understand that he was a legendary singer and a newcomer can't match his talent. We can’t compare the new singers with him and there shouldn’t be a comparison. These kids are talented and they are doing fabulous jobs but it’s not right for a beginner to be a legendary singer."

Sawant further added, "They have just started their careers. It is unfair to make such comments and ridicule them. And even if the singing goes a little here and there it’s fine because that is live singing and they are new singers. I don’t think people should blame the newcomers."

For the uninitiated, Amit had told the portal, "I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise karna hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai (I was told to praise everyone and to uplift everyone, no matter how they sang) because it's a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened."
