Film producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, best remembered for his collaboration with director Rajkumar Hirani, has turned 68-year-old today (born in 1952). Chopra had recently made a movie 'Shikara' on the outcast of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, which was based on his own life experience.

On the other hand, Ramanand Sagar's epic 'Ramayan' was people's favourite during the lockdown. But did you know that Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Ramanand Sagar are actually brothers?

VVC and Sagar are half-brothers because of their father DN Chopra. In fact, Ramanand Sagar's real name was Chandramouli Chopra.

Sagar was born in Lahore and shifted to Kashmir. After his mother's demise, DN Chopra got married again, and with Shanti Devi Chopra, they had Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The 68-year-old filmmaker was born in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shanti had to leave Kashmir during outcasts of Kashmiri Pandits. VVC's 'Shikara' was a dedication to his mother and the event which took place.

Apart from being a film producer, Vidhu Vinod Chopra is also a writer, director, editor, lyricist and actor. He is best remembered for movies like 'Parinda', '1942: A Love Story', 'Eklavya', 'Munna Bhai' series, '3 Idiots', 'PK' and 'Sanju'.
