"I was blamed for coming in between Sidharth and Shehnaaz and their friendship. That deeply affected me," Arti Singh said in an interview.
In a recent interview, TV actor Arti Singh revealed the reason behind her keeping distance from late actor Sidharth Shukla and not being in touch with him for nearly two years.
For the unversed, Arti and Sidharth were close friends and the two supported each other during their stint in the controversial reality show 'Bigg Boss 13'. During the show, Sidharth and Shenaaz Gill's chemistry was also much-talked-about. Later, Arti was blamed and criticized for creating problems between late Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill. And to resolve this, and not come between the two stars who were rumoured to be dating after the show concluded, Arti decided to stay away and maintain a safe distance from Sidharth.
Now, during an interview with The Times Of India, Arti Singh stating that she regrets not following her heart, said, "I wasn't in touch with Sidharth for almost two years. The last time we spoke was on February 15, 2019. Hamaari baat hi nahi hui (We didn't speak after). I was quite affected by what was being said about my friendship with Sidharth. I was blamed for coming in between Sidharth and Shehnaaz and their friendship. That deeply affected me. After that, I decided to let them be. I didn't want to come in between their friendship. I am not someone who would want to become a cause of stress in anyone’s life."
After Sidharth’s sudden demise, Arti was one of the first to rush to his residence in Mumbai.
In her interview, Arti said that she regrets not staying in touch with the late actor and expressed that she is worried for Shehnaaz after Sidharth's tragic demise. "I regret the fact that I didn't stay in touch with him. Though I thought of calling him on a couple of occasions, I didn't because I felt that he was happy aur maine socha ki usse apni zindagi jeene do (and I thought of letting him be). I was just happy to see him happy and wanted to let him be. But no one expected something like this to happen. It's unfortunate and devastating. My heart goes out to Shehnaaz. The incident has taught me to follow my heart," Arti added.
Sidharth was 40 when he breathed his last on September 2. The actor last appeared on reality shows 'Bigg Boss OTT' and 'Dance Deewane 3' with Shehnaaz Gill. The late star rose to fame with the hit TV shows 'Balika Vadhu' and 'Dil Se Dil Tak'. He also shared screen space with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the 2014 hit film 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'. The actor was also seen alongside Diljit Dosanjh in the 2018 movie 'Soorma'. He recently tasted success with his stint on the reality show 'Bigg Boss 13', where he emerged as the winner. The actor's last screen outing was Ekta Kapoor's insanely popular show 'Broken But Beautiful 3' in which he played the role of Agastya Rao.
