Popular television actor Shweta Tiwari, who is seen essaying the role of Guneet Sikka in Sony TV's show 'Mere Dad Ki Dulhan', has tested positive for coronavirus, confirmed a source. After testing positive, the actor has quarantined herself at home.

Shweta had been shooting for her show, which is much loved for the chalk and cheese chemistry between Amber Sharma and Guneet Sikka, who finally begin dating and confess their love to each other, after keeping their relationship under wraps for a long time. 

Earlier, her 'Mere Dad Ki Dulhan' co-star Varun Badola’s wife Rajeshwari Sachdev had tested for the novel coronavirus. 

"Hello Everyone! Ho gaya ji humko bhi... I`ve tested positive for Covid- 19. Got myself tested when I started showing a few symptoms and have isolated plus quarantined myself at home. I am under the doctor`s Supervision and all seems in control," Rajeshwari had announced on social media on Thursday.

The actress recently made a comeback to television with her role of a Rajasthani housewife, Kusum Kothari, in 'Shaadi Mubarak'.

Actor Varun Badola, however, had tested negative for the virus. 

"I took the Covid test after my wife tested positive. Just received my result and it is negative. A big thank you to all who prayed for my good health. Your wishes do not just keep me going, but alive too," Varun wrote on Instagram.

It was reported that Varun had taken a break from shoot after his wife tested COVID-19 positive.
