After Pearl V Puri, 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' fame Pracheen Chauhan arrested for alleged molestation

As per news agency ANI, 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' fame TV actor Pracheen Chauhan was arrested by Mumbai Police on Saturday for allegedly molesting a girl.

The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint from the victim at Karur Police Station, Mumbai Police informed. A case under sections 354, 323, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered.

While an investigation is underway, further details are awaited. 

Meanwhile, Prakash Bele, Senior PI Kurar Village police station, Malad (East), told Times of India, "The complainant along with a friend was invited by the accused to his residence on June 30. The accused was drunk and touched her inappropriately. He was produced before the Borivali court today and has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody."

For the unversed, Chauhan debuted with Ekta Kapoor's serial 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' in which he appeared in the character of Subroto Basu. After that he appeared in 'Kuchh Jhuki Palkain', 'Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka Saat Phere' and 'Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg' on Colors TV.  Currently, he essays the role of Vishal Agarwal in 'Shaadi Mubarak'.

On a related note, TV actor Pearl V Puri who was arrested in June on charges of raping a minor girl, recently broke his silence about the alleged rape accusations against him.

"Life has its own way of testing people! I lost my Nani ma a few months back, then on her 17th day, I lost my dad, post that my mother got diagnosed with cancer and then this ghastly accusation. The last couple of weeks were gruelling for me like a nightmare. I was, overnight, made to feel like a criminal," he wrote. 

"All of this in the midst of my mother's cancer treatment, shattered my sense of security, making me feel helpless," he added. 

Pearl was arrested after being accused of raping a minor girl on the sets of a TV show in 2019. Opening up about the case, Pearl said that he has faith in the judiciary of his country."I am still numb... but I felt it's time to reach out to my friends, fans and well-wishers who`ve showered me with their love, support and concern. Thank you for keeping faith in me and I am a firm believer in 'Satyamev Jayate'. I trust in the Law, judiciary of my country and God up there. Please keep your duas coming," he concluded.
