'Aashram' is based in the Fictional city of Kashipur. The empire created by a Godman Baba Nirala, called 'The Aashram', comes under the radar after a skeleton of a devotee from the lower caste, is found in the adjacent forest land, disrupts the peace of the city in the crucial times of the upcoming state elections.

The trailer also gives a visual of girls being kept caged in what looks like the basement of the 'Aashram'. However it leaves a question mark whether the 'messiah' Bobby Deol is involved in the death of the devotee. It is still not confirmed whether Baba Nirala is inspired by a real-life 'godman'.

Here's the trailer:

Directed by Prakash Jha, 'Aashram' stars Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, Anupria Goenka, Adhyayan Summan, Tridha Choudhury, Vikram Kochhar, Tushar Pandey, Sachin Shroff, Anuritta Jha, Rajeev Siddhartha, Parinitaa Seth, Tanmaay Ranjan, Preeti Sood, Jahangir Khan, Kanupriya Gupta and Navdeep Tomar in pivotal roles.

Interestingly, 'Aashram' will debut on August 28, which is exactly a week after his movie 'Class of 83' releases. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, 'Class of 83' is also slated for OTT (Netflix) release.
