Shaheer Sheikh recently announced his engagement with long-time girlfriend Ruchika Kapoor and has been in the news ever since.
Television star Shaheer Sheikh, who is currently making headlines for announcing his engagement with Ruchikaa Kapoor, Creative Producer & Executive Vice President at Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd., is best known for his roles as the warrior prince Arjun in serial 'Mahabharat', as Devrath Dixit in 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' and Abir Rajvansh in daily soap drama 'Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke'.
Born in Jammu and Kashmir, Shaheer has two sisters and is has done Bachelors in Laws from New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. After completing his Bachelors, he went onto pursue a career in photography and then modelling.
However, it was acting where lay his true calling. And so he pursued it and made his debut in 2009 with telly serial 'Kya Mast Hai Life'. He shot to fame after he played Arjun in the serial 'Mahabharat' and then there was no looking back for him.

On November 24, actor Shaheer Sheikh made his relationship with Ruchikaa Kapoor official through an Instagram post. In the photo, he can be seen holding 'his girl's' hand and the latter is seen flaunting the engagement ring that Shaheer proposed her with, while having a good laugh seated comfortably on a couch.

At the time when Shaheer was essaying the role of Devrath Dixit in serial 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' opposite Erica Fernandez, there were rumours of the two dating each other. For the longest time, there was no denial or acceptance of the relationship from either of them. And so, whenever Shaheer or Erica put up pictures on social media, they would go viral and people and fans would think that the two were together.

After several reports of Erica and him being together, in 2019, Shaheer finally opened up on his relationship with his co-star. In an interview with Bombay Times, Shaheer said, "Abhi aisa kuchh nahi hai. According to reports, I am dating a couple of women and I have two to three wives around the world. Erica has herself denied our relationship, and expected people to respect us. But then, that's the hazard of our profession."
He, however, added that he had experienced true love several years ago. He said, "I felt it once in my life, which was a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. Love is the most beautiful feeling in the world. That phase was the best phase of my life; my world revolved around her. I am glad I was able to live it and feel it."

While working in the Indonesian television industry, Shaheer started dating actor Ayu Tingting in 2015. The two dated each other for a while and were open about the relationship. However, they eventually broke up in 2016. It was probably this ' truly love' that Shaheer was speaking of in his interview to Bombay Times.

In 2016, Shaheer abruptly parted ways from Indonesian actor Ayu Tingting. However, it was in 2019, when Shaheer met her after several years at the launch event of Daastan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali, and shared the stage with her, that he apologised to her and sought her forgiveness for ending things abruptly.
On the stage, he said sorry and asked for forgiveness if he ever made her feel bad at any point in time. It was a heartfelt moment to see the ex-couple come together after a very long time. Ayu replied to Shaheer stating that she had forgiven him and they hugged each other. Watch the video here:
