Dussehra or Vijaya Dashmi is celebrated every year after the end of Navratri (festival of nine nights). The festival marks the triumph of good over evil. In northern and western states of India, it is celebrated as Dussehra, where towering effigies of Ravana are burnt to celebrate Lord Rama's victory.
