Disha Vakani aka Dayaben will not be returning to comedy show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'. Here are five actresses who we think can fill in her shoes.
Fans of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' had been eagerly awaiting the return of Daya Ben ever since actor Disha Vakani left the popular sitcom. She has been missing from the show since September 2017. The actress was blessed with a baby girl in November, 2017 and has been on a maternity break since then.
Now that the reports of her quitting the show have been confirmed, fans might have to make peace with Disha's exit.
Last year, the makers were rumoured to be hunting for a fresh face for the show. 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' fame Gia Manek was amongst the first ones whose name had popped up during that time. However, there was no official announcement made on the same.

Disha Vakani made a really special place in viewers’ hearts with her comic timing and innocence. We agree it will be difficult to see someone else playing Daya Ben, now. But, we think Gia Manek might actually be a good option. 'Gopi Bahu' had become a household name during 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' and we feel she has the innocence and the quirk that Daya Ben's character requires.
2. Deepika Singh

Like Disha, 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' star Deepika Singh has been away from the small screen ever since she became a mother. We think Disha wouldn't mind handing over the baton to this talented actress.
3. Devoleena Bhattacharjee

Had we not seen her play Gopi Bahu on 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya', this Bengali beauty might not have topped our nominations list for a Gujarati character - that too of such an iconic character like that of Daya Ben! We feel the actress might surprise us in the comic role.
4. Rashami Desai

We know she looks a little too glamourous to play Jetha Lal's wife but then who knows? She might do to 'Taarak Mehta' what Shubhangi Atre did to 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!' Plus, we shouldn't forget that she is a Gujju in real life. It will only make her performance look more authentic, if nothing else.
5. Rati Pandey

Rati Pandey, who was last seen in 'Porus', might also make for a convincing Daya Ben, we feel.
