'Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain' fame Saanand Verma opens up on being forced to sleep in smelly room, having no money for food

Saanand Verma aka Anokhi Lal Saxenaji in the comedy show recently opened up on the struggles he had to face after moving to Mumbai.

Over the years, ’Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain!’ has become a hit show due to its unique storyline and hilarious characters. The show’s actors have now become a household name due to its immense popularity.

While we know many of the actors as they have been in the industry for a long time now, actor Saanand Verma, who plays the character of Anokhi Lal Saxenaji in the comedy show recently opened up on the struggles he had to face after moving to Mumbai. Lets tell you a little about Saanand's heartbreaking story.

Saanand Verma aka Anokhi Lal Saxenaji is famous for his dialogue ‘I like it’ that he often uses on 'Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain!'. He also ends up getting beaten on the show repeatedly. The actor has become a household name now but he has struggled a lot to reach at this position. 

In a recent interview with YouTube channel Lehren, Saanand Verma said, “When I came to this city, I had only Rs 100 note in my pocket. I didn't know what to do next, where to go. I had faced many difficulties. I spent the first night in Mumbai in a small room inside a pharma factory. There was a lot of smell in the room. The place was so small that I could not even lie down on it properly. I spent the night on the mat.”

Saanand Verma then describes how he had to sell his car to pay EMI. He said, “There was a time when I used to be hungry. I didn't even have money to eat food. Not only this, Sanand Verma left his multi-national company's big-paying job to pursue a career in acting. According to the actor, he had bought a big house. For this he had taken home loan. He had spent his PF and gratuity money to repay the home loan. Apart from this, he even sold his car, as he did not have money to pay the EMI.”

According to the actor, he started to walk 50 km everyday due to lack of money. “I tried to travel 25 km in Mumbai local for auditions but could not because I got used to the luxury lifestyle. Then I started walking 50 km daily, it was very difficult, Sanand Vera said. 

Saanand Verma has been associated with the show 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai' since started. He started his film career in the year 2014 with Rani Mukerji starrer 'Mardaani'. Apart from this, he has also appeared in films such as 'Red', 'Pataakha' and 'Chhichhore'. Not only this, he has also been a part of the web series 'Apharan' and 'Sacred Games'.
