1. "I kissed a girl and she liked it…" Did she like it though?

Perhaps one of the most uncomfortable moments on TV ever was when the Grammy-nominated star kissed a 19-year old Benjamin Glaze! Yes, on the lips! This moment got a lot of attention in the music and entertainment world of Hollywood. Benjamin, in his interviews, confessed that he had not yet experienced his first kiss and didn’t feel it would be right to do so unless he was in a romantic relationship. While that might be an uncommon outlook, his feelings on the matter are certainly valid. Benjamin didn’t get through to the next round and this situation caused a lot of controversies!

Katy Perry isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. Even though the contestants are supposed to be the ones performing, Perry decided to bust a move during one of their performances. She just couldn’t resist to the beat of Selena’s “Techno Cumbia” performed by contestant Michelle Sussett. She started dancing around, but when it was time to get low, she just got a little too low. And by that, she toppled over. She lost balance and fell over. But luckily, her fellow judges helped her get up and laughed off her embarrassing slip up.

Although she hasn’t gone as far as locking lips as she did with Benjamin Glaze, Katy Perry has been criticized for her flirtatious behaviour on the show. When 27-year-old Trevor Holmes auditioned for the show, he revealed that he was a huge Katy Perry fan but was in a happy relationship with his girlfriend. Perry wasn’t shy at all about telling him that he is hot, and even his name was attractive to her. She also has some flirtatious words for the 18-year-old Jonny Brenns. She positively swooned over his performance and referred to herself as a “cougar” for drooling over him.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and that might just be true, based on this Katy Perry moment. Singing a song that was originally performed by one of the judges is a bold move, but it’s one that can pay off hugely. That was the case when one of the contestants sang Perry’s very famous song – ‘I kissed a girl’. Perry loved it so much that she claimer Lucia’s version was even better than hers. That was not it! Katy suggested that Lucia should come sing at one of her shows one day.
5. The Frog Impression

Perhaps the craziest story involving Katy Perry and American Idol is in one of the episodes, Katy showed off one of her strange talents – she did a frog impression. She managed to expand her throat and even got her fellow judges to touch it. Even she admitted that her talent is quite ‘disgusting’. While we wouldn’t go that far but it something we did not expect to see on an episode of American Idol.

For a "Hollywood Week" episode in the season one after the show’s revival, Katy told one of the groups that out of the four girls, one would need to volunteer to go home. After a tense moment, singer Crystal Alicea agreed to leave the competition and began crying. It was then that Katy announced that everyone was actually going through and, basically, that she was just kidding.
