'I had to take the brunt of what I had done': Shaheer Sheikh on fans' reactions to his wedding with Ruchikaa Kapoor

Shaheer Sheikh and Ruchikaa Kapoor dropped a surprise to the fans by not only confirming their relationship but also by getting married. The couple settled for court marriage in Mumbai and announced their Instagram pages on November 27, 2020. Now, during an interaction, Shaheer spoke about his fans' reactions to the news of his wedding. The actor also said that the situation is calm now and they are in a safe zone.

Shaheer told Pinkvilla, "So, it was a battle for a few days where I had to take the brunt of what I had done. I was not expecting that honestly.  But I guess with time, they also realised or felt happy for me. I have no complaints. Eventually, they realised that I am genuinely happy and also the relationship I share with the people who have seen my shows or appreciate my work."

He further said, "I think it’s quite deep because I rely on them so much, I depend on them so much and I interact with them as well whenever I can. So, that bond I guess they felt that this might break. But that’s not going to happen. I don’t see it happening. So, I guess we are in a safe zone now."

Shaheer also told Telly Chakkar, "Everyone was surprised actually, I did not expect that kind of a reaction but apparently, it meant a lot for some people. I got bad reactions as well, some people felt bad and offended. But I think if people understand me and they actually like me, they will understand my perspective in this and be happy in my happiness."
