The Gripen is deemed as 'The Smart Fighter' will be unveiled by Saab on May 18, according to the Popular Mechanics. The Gripen was in works for nearly 30 years. It's a two-seater jet with a combat turnaround time of 10 minutes and total load capacity of over 11,000 pounds. Yet it's light and maneuverable. It has an open-source, fully programmable and integrated avionics system, giving it flexibility for export nations to alter the aircraft as they see fit, reports Popular Mechanics.
