The most populated country in the world, China, has probably come up with the best response to traffic jam and pollution.
At the 19th China-Beijing International High-Tech Expo, country's top engineers have unveiled the Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) - a electricity operated elevated bus that runs on rails and high above the ground. This enables cars to move freely irrespective of the TEB being in motion or stopping.
Engineers have said that elevators would facilitate the boarding of passengers and each of the carriages can transport as many as 1200 passengers, at a time.
The test ride of the prototype would reportedly be held at Qinhuangdao City in China’s Hebei province.
In essence, if TEB does become a reality, it would answer China's and possibly the world's oil consumption, pollution and traffic problems in one fell swoop.
Check out how it would look like in this video uploaded by the YouTube handle of New China TV.
