Xiaomi Mi 7 may launch in June this year; expected to feature in-display fingerprint scanner

During Mobile World Congress, Xiaomi confirmed that the Mi Mix 2S will go official on March 27. But, there was no news regarding the Xiaomi Mi 7. Now, a new report suggests that the device will be unveiled in June this year.

The report suggests that the smartphone may be delayed due to the implementation of an in-display fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the device is said to include a 7.5 Watt wireless charging. It is expected to utilize the Qi standard V1.1, which supports wireless charging up to 7.5W. The company is using the same hardware, which is used by Apple, to ensure good quality.

According to reports, the device will sport a 6.01-inch bezel less display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be powered by the latest chipset, Snapdragon 845, along with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. It also expected to be backed by a 3000mAh battery. Lastly, the smartphone might also include the ability to unlock the smartphone with your face, similar to the technology spotted on the iPhone X.

Recently, Xiaomi officially stated that the company’s next smartphone, the Mi Mix 2S will be unveiled on March 27 in China. According to the poster shared by the company, the device will feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The poster also reveals that the device has an AnTuTu score of 273,741.

According to recent reports, the smartphone is said to feature an aspect ratio of 18: 9 along with an FHD+ resolution. Running Android Oreo, the device will be backed up by a 3400mAh battery.

The report also points out that the device may support AI camera features along with scene recognition support, which is similar to what we have seen on the Huawei Mate 10. Certain firmware files are suggesting that the new smartphone might pack in a Sony IMX363 sensor as well. At the moment, there is no information provided regarding price or availability.
