Mi 11 coming to India soon, company says may finalize lineup by January-end

In what comes as good news for Xiaomi fans, the company has said that it will soon bring the Mi 11 series to India, although it is yet to finalize the model.

As per a report in The Indian Express, the company may finalize the lineup by the end of this month. 

"With Mi 11, we are still contemplating the SKUs (stock keeping unit) we want to bring to the country. Perhaps by the end of January, we will finalize the entire lineup," the report quoted Sumit Sonal, Mi Marketing Lead at Xiaomi as saying.

It may be noted that the Mi 11 has already launched in China. There are speculations that the company may introduce a Pro variant of the series later.

On Tuesday, the Chinese mobile company launched its new flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi10i in India. Xiaomi Mi 10i is the third smartphone of the company's Mi 10 series that has been introduced in India. The Mi 10 and Mi 10T have already been launched in India. Like other models of the Mi 10 series, it too has been launched with a 108MP camera set-up.

The device also sports the new HM2 sensor from Samsung, making it the first phone in India to do so. It also comes with NAVIC support, which is India's navigation system. 

Sumit also said that all the camera optimisations are done mostly in India, adding that the company now has a dedicated lab and full team dedicated to it.

With the Mi 10i, the company is competing with OnePlus Nord in the sub 20,000 price range.

“The idea is to make the brand approachable. And that’s what the entire positioning for the Mi 10i specifically is. In this particular price bracket, which is mostly going to be the Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, we will be competing against the OnePlus Nord and the Samsung M51,” Sonal said.
