Facebook has officially launched a feature called 'On This Day' wherein users will see a feed of everything they posted on Facebook on a given date in the past years including photos and posts they were tagged in on that day.
According to the Verge, Facebook started testing this feature a few years ago and announced it officially now almost two years later.
When users visit Facebook, they will see an option to view the 'On This Day' page, from where they will be able to see the content they posted in years past and will have an option to share it with friends.
People can also sign up for notifications so they are reminded to check the feeds every day.
Facebook is also taking precautions to ensure that the nostalgia it induces is not painful. Hence, it will avoid showing posts from people who have died or from people who were in a relationship with the user earlier and have changed their statuses now.
