Attention Star Wars fans, if you’ve ever fantasized about being a jedi (of course you have) now’s your chance. Industrial Light and Magic’s xLab is releasing a game Monday, that will let players experience the thrill of wildly flailing around a lightsaber in virtual reality.  Trials on Tatooine will be available for PC on Steam July 18, and is compatible with the HTC Vive. Bonus; it’ll be absolutely free.Trials on Tatooine is obviously not a complete game title with all the bells and whistles that would entail, but is more of a teaser for things to come in future. The entire game has a playtime of roughly 10 minutes, during which the player will be helping Han Solo repair the Millenium Falcon, while also using the customary Jedi weapon to defend the site from Imperial Stormtroopers. The game is fully geared towards VR, and players will have to use the Vive’s motion controller to play. But while it may not look like much in its current form, Trials on Tatooine is a promise for great things in the future, especially as Lucasfilm confirms that it’s now working with Sony for a PlayStation VR exclusive title in the Star Wars: Battlefront universe.
