WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platform users must read this article as the popular social media platforms are hit by onlien frauds. There is no denying the fact that social media has emerged as one of the most popular means of communication in modern era but the social media platforms are open to frequent attack by cyber crooks. Since these online frauds are not direct many of us do not know about its danger.

The modus operandi of online frauds has been decoded. Social media users receive a message in which the users are promised some gift or benefit and the users are invited to click on certain links there. The users are told that they can avail these benefits only by clicking on these links. But as soon as you click on the links some apps or malware will be downloaded on users phones or computers and you will become a cyber fraud victim.

In order to avoid falling prey to such fraudsters, you should keep a few things in mind:

1. Whenever you receive a message promising big benefit and asks for money, consider it to be a scam. 

2. Whenever someone asks you for usernames and passwords or OTP or PIN, consider it a scam.

3. Never share banking details with anyone including credit and debit card number, CVV, PIN, Internet Banking User ID, Internet Banking Password.

4. Never share an OTP (One Time Password) as it may allow the fraudsters to access your bank account, or other personal accounts.
