Watch how passengers will travel in this futuristic transport at over 1000 km/hr

Do you want to see how the 21st-century modern mode of communication would look like? Do know how much time in the future it would take for you to travel from one city to another? So here's Virgin Hyperloop's new concept video showing its plans for a transportation system that will allow passengers to travel between cities within minutes. Yes, you heard it right, within minutes.

The company, which is part of Richard Branson's Virgin empire has designed this futuristic transport system where there is a series of pods inside a near-vacuum tube that facilitates high speed by reducing aerodynamic drag. These battery-powered pods will glide at speeds of up to 670 miles per hour.

Unlike train cars, these pods will not be connected, which will allow them to travel to different destinations. Shared by Richard Branson on YouTube and subsequently, on Twitter, the video explained that these pods will eventually be able to seat 28 passengers each. However, while this transport system sounds impressive, the hyperloop remains an unproven technology.

The company completed its first test with passengers in November 2020. It had previously performed more than 400 unoccupied tests, according to a company press release at the time. During the test, the pod only reached 100 mph on the track, the company said. Virgin Hyperloop said its track was 500 metres long, limiting how fast the pods could go.

Virgin Hyperloop was founded as Hyperloop Technologies in 2014. Richard Branson joined its board of directors in 2017, and the company's name was changed then.
