Users will now be able to schedule IG Live on Instagram - Here's how

Facebook-owned Instagram has introduced a new feature for its subscribers. Individuals will now be able to schedule their IG lives up to 90 days in advance. Lives are considered a great tool to interact with followers and build an audience where it becomes easy to promote brands, etc. 

As per Instagram, viewers will now get alerts regarding a scheduled live where they will be able to sign up for the Live. 

In terms of Live, Instagram has followed the footsteps of TikTok, which rolled a set of new features that included the ability to schedule TikTok LIVE videos. Yes, TikTok is still banned in India. 

Here's how you can schedule an IG Live: 

- Open the App and swipe right for the camera. 

- Find the option 'Live' and select 'Schedule'.

- Set the name, date and time of the event that will be taking place live. 

- Once the Live scheduled, users will have to share it as a post with an image that will also contain the Live link. 

According to Instagram, this feature will help people and brands grow on this platform and promote their products or events. Users can also add a countdown to their schedule to remind their followers about Live.

On the other hand, after the major outage that took place recently, App developers are saying that they are testing a feature to notify users of outages or technical issues directly on the app. The six-hour-long outage that took place on October 4 prevented 3.5 billion users from accessing its social media.
