Fresh n Cut, started by 35-year-old media professional Sanshil Mascarenhas, home-delivers chopped fruits and vegetables, which can be ordered through its Facebook page or by calling or sending a message to 085422909095/08422909091/022-41295555 on WhatsApp. It has also tied up with grocery stores in select areas.

Currently, delivery is done in Thane, Mulund, Kanjurmarg, Bhandup and Powai.

"After a tiring day in office who wants to go all the way to the market to buy vegetables and fruits! And buying isn't the end of it. The fruits and veggies have to be cleaned, washed, peeled and chopped," says Mascarenhas.

He adds, "With both husband and wife working in many families, at times, both return home late. So, the idea behind the initiative is, rather than ordering unhealthy ready-made food from outside, they can get fresh and cut vegetables and fruits at their doorstep just by sending a message."

The prices are competitive and there is also a provision of opting for a loyalty card, which can be used to buy vegetables and fruits at select centres in Naupada, Devdayanagar, Gandhinagar, Vartaknagar, Kobad, Tembhinaka, Vasant Vihar and Veenanagar in Thane. Packets of 50g, 100g and 200g are available which have fruits, vegetables, coriander leaves, garlic, ginger and green chillies. Ready-to-cook mixes, such as pav bhaji, pulao, Chinese sambhar and sprouts, are also available.

To place an order, send a message on WhatsApp and, in response, you will be sent the product list with the latest prices. Give your order based on that, following which you will get a call to confirm it and then delivery in some time.

Thane resident Sumitra Mallick says, "Fresh n Cut has really simplified my life. I message the list of vegetables on WhatsApp while leaving office and, by the time I reach home, it's arrived."

Seconding Mallick, another Thane resident, Shalini Mishra, says, "The prices are competitive and the best part is they have almost all the vegetables and fruits."
