The 53-year-old designer recently customised Apple's smartwatch by ditching the traditional wristband and turning it into a silver chain pocket watch. While the watch's avatar definitely looks quite stylish (read hipster) one must also realise that this makes some of the Apple Watch's most basic functions, like its heart monitor, and pedometer completely useless. Not to mention that if you're digging into your pocket for your watch to swipe a purchase on an Apple Pay machine, you may as well be hunting for your phone.I do not presume to tell Tom Ford how to dress the likes of James Bond but, in the name of all that is sacred, why would you leash your smartwatch to anything but your wrist? Your  wrist won't buzz, so you won't get the easy access updates you bought the watch for, you're reaching into your pocket to send a text or email from a smaller screen that you can't type on, when you could just reach for your phone, and the only time people get to see your fancy Apple Watch is when you deliberately take it out and display it, instead of not looking like a snob by having your acquaintances notice it on your wrist instead.Kind of self-defeating all around if you ask me. But then again, I'm not a millionaire style icon, so what do I know?
